Also forces you to put a little bit more thought into zoning, since you probably shouldn't just zone out stuff miles away from any power right at the start since it takes time for the buildings to fill in and fill up the power grid.But yeah, since nearby buildings all power each other anyway it doesn't look like you'll be using them much outside of the early game or connecting things that are very far away from everything else.Īll of the videos I've seen have had a bunch of unnecessary power lines that I wouldn't have bothered with. I actually quite like it, I think it's a nice balance between letting you have certain things (Like a sewer pipe) far away from the start without having to build roads all the way there, but still making you think about power and your future layout a bit. I think it's very realistic the way it is, it is done like this in the country where I live and many countries I've visited. So you only need them from your power plant to the edge of your city, and then between different cities/districts if you decide to build them a little way away from each other. I have no idea about modding and what will be possible, we'll find out more this week.I don't think overground ones are that bad, since power will flow to connected houses.
